New Charter School Application Process

  • Mandatory Training to Open a Charter School (PDF)
    In compliance with R277-470-4, all applicants interested in opening a charter school must attend training provided by the Utah State Office of Education.

  • Charter School Application 2012-2013 (MSWord) - Coming Soon
    Charter school applications for the 2012-2013 school year coming soon. Mandatory pre-applicant training is required of all new applicants.

  • Virtual Charter School Application 2012-2013 (MSWord) - Coming Soon
    Virtual charter school applications for the 2011-2012 school year are coming soon. Mandatory pre-applicant training is required of all new applicants. This is a new application and pre-applicant training is strongly recommended for all applicants.

  • Intent to Apply (MSWord)
    Applicants for charters must submit an Intent to Apply document to State Charter School Board

  • Application for Re-Chartering from a District to the State Charter School Board - (MS Word)
    Application providing information requested from a district charter school applying for re-chartering under the State Charter School Board.

  • Charter Conversion Documents - (MS Word)
    In compliance of 53A-1a-501.8, the State Charter School Board shall enter into a charter agreement with each school operating under a charter issued by the State Board of Education.  The Charter Conversion Documents provides information needed prepare to execute this agreement. Note: If you are seeking amendments to the charter that is currently in place with the State Board of Education, please include those amendments with these documents.

  • Charter School Agreement - PDF Document
    This agreement is signed after the charter application receives final approval from the State Board
