License Renewal - Level 2 or 3

Before renewing your license, you need to complete a fingerprint check after July 1 of the school year in which your license expires. Please begin the fingerprint process at www.utah.gov/teachers and pay the $69 background check fee with your credit card (if you do not have a credit card, visit a local store and purchase a gift card for $69).
200 Professional Development Points over the previous 5 or 7 years or teaching experience in a public or accredited private school [35 points per school year over previous 5 or 7 years. These points may not be carried over into the new license renewal period.
Submit the following:
- Level 2 or 3 renewal form
- Go online at www.utah.gov/teachers and click on Expired License Renewal. Be prepared to pay $45 if you are an active educator (currently teaching in Utah or have taught in Utah 3 out of the last 5/7 years) or $70 if you are an inactive educator (not currently teaching in Utah or have not taught in Utah 3 out of the last 5/7 years).
