License Renewal - Level 1

Before renewing your license, you need to complete a fingerprint check after July 1 of the school year in which your license expires. Please begin the fingerprint process at www.utah.gov/teachers and pay the $69 background check fee with your credit card (if you do not have a credit card, visit a local store and purchase a gift card for $69).
100 Professional Development Points over the past 3 years or teaching experience in a public or accredited private school (25 points per school year over previous 3 years). These points may not be carried over into the new license renewal period.
Submit the following:
- renewal form
- a check for $45.00 (if you are currently teaching in Utah or have taught 3 out of the last 3 years) or $70.00 (if you are not currently teaching in Utah or have not taught in Utah 3 out of the last 3 years) made out to “USOE”
- verification (transcripts, etc.) of your renewal points (if the form has been signed by your administrator or a Level 2 educator, you need not send the verification documents).
