
A level 1 License can be renewed if you have less then three years of contact experience after the level 1 License was issued.
If you have had three years of experience in a Utah school after receiving your level 1 license, you must upgrade to the Level 2. For more information visit the Entry Years Enhancement (EYE).
If you have not taught three years in a Utah school, please, proceed below.
Before renewing your license, you need to complete a fingerprint background check after July 1 of the school year in which your license expires. Please begin the fingerprint process at www.utah.gov/teachers and pay the $69 fingerprint background check fee with your credit card (if you do not have a credit card, visit a local store and purchase a gift card for $69).
100 Professional Development Points over the past 3 years or teaching experience in a public or accredited private school (25 points per school year over previous 3 years). These points may not be carried over into the new license renewal period.
Submit the following any time after January 1 and before May 30 in year of expiration as entered in CACTUS:
a check for the $45.00 fee made out to “USOE”
verification (transcripts, etc.) of your renewal points (if the form has been signed by your administrator, you need not send the verification documents).
