T. H. Bell Teaching Incentive Loan

All application materials must arrive at the Utah State Office of Education on or before 5:00 p.m., Friday March 30, 2012.

The T. H. Bell Teaching Incentive Loan (TIL) is funded by the Utah State Legislature. TIL recipients are required to pursue an educator preparation program, obtain educator licensing, and then teach in Utah public schools for a period equal to the time they received assistance. To qualify for a Utah Educator License, a recipient must receive a cleared background/fingerprint check at the time of licensing and have a visa or citizenship status that will allow the recipient to be employed in the United States.  The TIL consists of a waiver (of tuition and fees at the Utah public institutions and $995.00 per semester at private institutions) to be used for a period not exceeding 8 semesters. The program is jointly administered by the State Board of Education and the State Board of Regents.


Robert C. Byrd Scholarship Award

The Robert C. Byrd Scholarship Award is a national award which offers a $1,500 scholarship to students with excellent academic skills in high school, and who demonstrate the possibility for continued educational success in college. The scholarship is renewable for up to 4 years during undergraduate studies.
