Task Force For Implementation of the Educator Licensing and Professional Practices Act

Motions Passed:

  1. Principles to guide organizing:
    (a) public education and higher education need to collaborate,
    (b) final authority for credentialing lies with the State Board of Education, and
    (c) need to coordinate and establish clear procedures between and within various education groups.

  2. Responsibilities involving both public education and higher education include:
    (a) pre-service preparation,
    (b) induction and support,
    (c) continuing professional development, and
    (d) standards of conduct for educators.

  3. JLC Advisory Committee is responsible for advising the JLC on issues and standards of mutual concern to public education and higher education including:
    (a) pre-service preparation,
    (b) induction and support,
    (c) continuing professional development, and
    (d) educator conduct.
