Endorsements,
Demonstrated Competency, and Lines of Evidence
Listed below are
the procedures to assist you in obtaining additional subject matter endorsement(s).
These procedures require that you contact the State
Office Specialist. Please be aware that in order to be eligible to apply
for demonstrated competency, you must have taught (under contract) for two
years
in
the subject within the previous five-year period. This experience must have
taken place in UTAH. Lines of evidence may include the following:
- Any college
courses in the subject matter area (official or legible copy of transcript).
- Any inservice courses in the subject matter area.
- Special methods courses.
- The recommendation of your principals and others,
which must be specific to the subject.
- A passing score from a standardized
test in the subject in which endorsement is sought.
- Student test scores
on achievement tests in the subject.
To apply for these endorsements, you
must already have a Level 1 or Level 2 License with an Elementary or Secondary
Area of Concentration.

supporting any of the above lines of evidence, including a cover letter identifying the subject area(s) to be evaluated and a processing fee as indicated below:
