Thank you for your interest in Troops to Teachers. The purpose of Troops to Teachers is to assist eligible military personnel to transition to a new career as public school teachers in targeted schools. Our mission is to provide timely, personalized assistance towards your pursuit of a second career as a public school teacher. Specifically, we will provide you with personalized advising for licensure requirements and identify institutions where courses are available.
Utah Troops to Teachers allows you to teach on a temporary license while you are completing licensure requirements. The program allows three years for completion. An application is attached; please complete it and submit it along with original transcripts to the address above. There is also a $75.00 application fee, make a check or money order payable to USOE. Utah Troops to Teachers is responsible to assist you with obtaining a state educator license and the Mountain West office determines eligibility and stipends.
