Educator Licensing Information

The CTE Introduction course is to be taught by a team of teachers with appropriate license areas and endorsements. Three to four career and technical education (CTE) classroom teachers should be assigned to team-teach this year-long course. CTE Introduction also requires support and classroom interaction with a school counselor and, where available, a work-based learning coordinator.

General CTE Endorsements - Grades 7-12
The following CTE endorsements qualify secondary education license area teachers to be on the CTE Introduction teacher team:

  •  Agriculture (CTE/General)
  •  Business (CTE/General)   OR   Business Information Technology
  •  Family and Consumer Sciences Education (CTE/General)
  •  Intro to Health Science Science/Health Technology   OR   Medical Anatomy &Physiology
  •  Marketing (CTE/General)
  •  Technology and Engineering Education (CTE /General)

The teacher is qualified to teach the corresponding CTE program component.   It is recommended that collectively the CTE Introduction team teachers have at least three of these endorsements.


Junior High/Middle School CTE Endorsements - Grades 6-8
The three middle/junior high school endorsements listed below are available to assist teachers in becoming qualified to teach CTE courses in grades 6-8 when an CTE-endorsed teacher is not available.  These endorsements can only be given to teachers with elementary education, middle school, or secondary education license areas of concentration.
