Teacher Keyboarding Tips

Classroom Management

  • Ask the classroom teacher to complete a seating chart for the computer lab BEFORE students enter on the first day.
  • Cover your lab's computer hardware with students BEFORE they enter the computer lab for keyboarding instruction.
  • Use some type of incentive to reinforce good behavior.
  • Provide keyboard charts for classroom teachers to display and use in their classrooms.  Some classroom teachers put up a blank keyboarding and then fill in the keys as their class learns them in the computer lab.
