The Face-to-Face training is provided at your school’s EDNET / IVC facility by the Utah State Office of Education’s (USOE) Distance Education Training Specialist and the UEN's Distance Education Training Specialist. The training provides pedagogical and technical distance education training, and orientation. The training will take no more than 20 hours of your time. Participants will prepare, present, and critique their own 7-10 minute mini-lesson over the EDNET / IVC network from their school.
As part of the training you will receive EDNET/IVC Technical training that allows you to practice on the same equipment that you will use in your day-to-day teaching. You will also practice preparing graphics for the ELMO, using the microphone, preparing PowerPoint Presentations, teaching with the Internet, and integrating distance learning technologies with your teaching strategies. You will also be shown techniques for increasing student interactivity and multimedia teaching in your classes.
By taking the training you can earn up to twenty hours of USOE re-licensure credit as well as the EDNET Faculty Training Certificate. To schedule an EDNET/IVC Training contact one of the Distance Education Training Specialists-- Sheryl Hulmston, or Charice Black listed at the bottom of this page.
