EDNET is the Utah Education Networks interactive videoconferencing system located at over 400 sites throughout Utah that electronically brings a teacher from one classroom to another, allowing students or participants to access classes and events that otherwise would not be available due to distance and geography. Participants at each site can synchronously watch and listen as well as participate in teacher led discussions or lessons. Cameras, microphones, monitors, projectors, the Internet and powerful presentation systems are all used to facilitate interaction.
For schools and other organizations involved in Interactive Video Conferencing through EDNET, either for high school and college classes or ad hoc events, the process of getting that event set up is easy to do. There are a few basics tools to use and it can all be done over the Internet.
