What Are CTE Pathways
CTE Pathways, within seven Areas of Study, are rigorous programs of study to assure strong academic and technical preparation. Pathways create relevance of learning, connecting high school coursework to work beyond high school, and validate the relationships between students and the educators who can be their advocates and mentors as they transition to postsecondary options. Pathways ensure that students will be prepared to take advantage of the full range of postsecondary options, including on-the-job training, certification programs, and two- and four-year college degrees.
Pathways help students clearly recognize the opportunities and educational opportunities beyond high school. Helping students understand their interests, work values, talents and skills, and how these might be best applied in the labor market, will increase chances for personal fulfillment in the workplace
